Network of Trainers? The consultants recruited for the
Luz Network of Trainers provide technical assistance (TA) and coach
Center for Cultural Competence customers. The Luz Network of
Trainers is a team of consultants who are interested in meeting the
needs of the Center for Cultural Competence customers in applying
the latest cultural competence practices.
The Center for
Cultural Competence provides technical assistance to participating
schools and agencies to do the following:
- Develop and institute cultural competency into curricula and
programs.
- Increase their understanding and/or cultural competence
regarding pedagogical models for teachers, staff, and
administrators.
- Revise and adapt materials, products or services to culturally
fit the population.

How does it work? The Center for
Cultural Competence developed a database, or network, of interested
and qualified consultants based on specific minimum criteria
described below. CCC staff uses this network to match technical
assistance requests on varied topics with the most qualified
consultant. The delivery mechanism takes into consideration
community resources and augments these resources so that the most
cost-effective technical assistance deliveries are implemented.
Who qualifies?Preference is given
to community and academic professionals that serve Latino and Native
American populations, but any qualified consultant is eligible to
become part of the Luz Network of Consultants.
