Blue Ribbon Schools Program
http://www.ed.gov/offices/OERI/BlueRibbonSchools/about.html
"The Department of Education established the Blue Ribbon Schools Program in 1982 to identify and honor America's outstanding public and private schools while encouraging other schools to look to the honorees for ideas and inspiration." Under the "Current Schools Honored" web page, a searchable database displays schools listed according to selected search criteria. For example, a search can be done by type of school - public or private, level - secondary or middle or elementary, or keyword, such as Hispanic. The results include quick stats and a download available in MS Word or Adobe Acrobat of the school's submission for the Blue Ribbon award. The information in these documents describes in detail the school, and programs for which the award is granted.
